Inside Murchison Falls National Park, you’ll enjoy game drives across open savannahs. A major highlight is the boat cruise on the River Nile to the base of Murchison Falls. Here, the Nile squeezes through a narrow gorge, forming one of Africa’s most powerful waterfalls. During the cruise, you’ll see many hippos, crocodiles, and tropical birds.
Today is a great day for a trip to Murchison Falls National Park, with a smooth new road making the journey easier. In the afternoon, you’ll take a walk to the top of the falls. Murchison Falls is Uganda’s largest national park, divided by the Nile River. Thanks to the river, the park is lush and green. The main highlight is seeing the Nile force its way through a narrow 7-meter gap and crash down powerfully — this is Murchison Falls. At the top, you’ll visit different viewpoints to see the falls up close and feel the strength of the water. If there’s enough time, you can also walk down a bit for a full view of the stunning waterfall.
Today is all about all the wildlife and natural beauty that Murchison Falls National Park has to offer. In the early morning you’ll enjoy a game drive and in the afternoon you will make a leisurely boat cruise on the Nile to the bottom of Murchison Falls. Look our for hippos, crocodiles, water birds and bathing elephants! Satisfied you will be dropped off at your overnight accommodation at the end of the day.
After breakfast, you’ll check out and bid farewell to the lodge staff and the park, as you casually drive through the game trails, taking in the wildlife on your way back to Entebbe/Kampala. Halfway, we highly recommend having a stop at the Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary. It’s the only place in Uganda where you can track the white rhino on foot. Trekking takes an hour.
