This journey brings together the very best of northern and southern Tanzania.
You start in the world-famous Serengeti National Park. It is rich with wildlife and endless open plains.
From there, you fly south to a hidden treasure, Ruaha National Park. It is wild, quiet, and untouched. Here you enjoy game drives and walking safaris in true wilderness.
Next, you continue to Nyerere National Park. It is diverse and full of life. Alongside game drives and walking safaris, you also enjoy relaxing boat safaris on the river. During the trip, you will also experience special bush breakfasts and sundowners surrounded by nature. In the south, the African bush feels different. Slower, deeper, and more intimate.
You fly to Kilimanjaro International Airport, where you arrive in the evening and receive a warm welcome. You will be taken to Arusha for your first overnight stay before starting your safari.
Today, you fly to the heart of the world-famous Serengeti. This gives you more time to enjoy the park and its incredible wildlife. Your flight takes you from Arusha to the Seronera airstrip. On arrival, your private driver-guide will be waiting to welcome you.
After lunch, your first game drive begins. The adventure starts right away. Over the next few days, you may see zebras, giraffes, antelopes, and playful monkeys. The Serengeti is also home to the Big Five, although rhinos are rarely seen. The park is famous for the Great Migration. Thousands of wildebeest and zebras travel across the plains in search of fresh grass and water. It is one of Africa’s greatest wildlife spectacles. The location of the migration changes throughout the year. On Days 3 and 4, you enjoy morning and afternoon game drives. Each safari is private, giving you the freedom to explore at your own pace. For an unforgettable experience, you can also choose an optional hot air balloon safari. Watching the Serengeti from above is truly magical.
After breakfast, you say goodbye to the Serengeti and fly south to Ruaha National Park. This remote park is one of Tanzania’s best-kept safari secrets. Ruaha is known for its rich wildlife and beautiful landscapes. You may see elephants, buffaloes, wild dogs, hyenas, hippos, leopards, lions, cheetahs, and many kinds of antelope. The Ruaha River is the heart of the park. During the dry season, animals gather here to drink, creating excellent wildlife viewing. For a different perspective, you can also choose an optional hot air balloon safari.
On the afternoon of your arrival, you join your first game drive with other guests from the camp. On Days 6 and 7, you enjoy morning and afternoon game drives. If you would like something different, you can also choose a guided walking safari or an exciting night drive.
One of the best things about Ruaha is its peaceful atmosphere. You will share this incredible wilderness with very few other visitors.
Your safari ends in the beautiful Nyerere National Park. You fly from Ruaha to Africa’s largest wildlife reserve, where another unforgettable adventure begins. The Rufiji River is the heart of the park. During the dry season, it attracts countless animals that come to drink, while crocodiles wait quietly along the banks. Wildlife is abundant here. You may see elephants, hippos, lions, leopards, wild dogs, many antelope species, and a wonderful variety of birds. Four of the Big Five live here, while rhinos are rarely seen.
Over the next few days, you can enjoy a range of safari activities. Explore the park on game drives in an open 4×4, discover the bush on foot, or glide along the river on a boat safari. Each day, you can choose two activities. A boat safari is a real highlight. It offers a peaceful and completely different view of the wilderness. If you’re lucky, you may even watch elephants crossing the river—a truly unforgettable sight.
In the morning, you fly from the airstrip to Dar es Salaam for your departure flight. You can optionally book a day room.
Travel tip: Relax on the beach? On day 11, you can fly directly from Nyerere to Zanzibar, and optionally continue to Pemba, for a pleasant end to your trip!
