This journey brings together the very best of Tanzania and Kenya in one trip. From the forested beauty of Lake Manyara to the endless plains of the Serengeti, from the dramatic Ngorongoro Crater to the elephant-rich Amboseli. You also explore Lake Nakuru and the famous Masai Mara. Your game drives are fully private, with your own English-speaking driver-guide.
At the border near Amboseli, you simply change vehicle and guide and continue your journey without hassle. Along the way, you have plenty of time to look for the Big Five, the Great Migration of wildebeest and zebras, and many other remarkable animals. This is a true combination of East Africa’s most iconic parks. During your safari, you stay in carefully selected lodges and tented camps.
If you wish, you can end your journey with a beach extension on the south coast of Mombasa or on the island of Zanzibar.
You fly to Kilimanjaro Airport. You arrive there in the evening and are taken to your hotel in Arusha by our local representative. Your safari begins the following morning.
After breakfast, your driver-guide will be ready to take you in your private vehicle to Lake Manyara. On the way, you can optionally stop at the village of Mto wa Mbu and meet the local community. After lunch, you head out for your first game drive in the park. Here you may see elephants, baboons, green monkeys, leopards, impalas, wildebeest, zebras, giraffes, buffaloes, and hippos.
On day 3, you drive through a scenic route into the Serengeti. The journey itself is part of the experience. This is one of the best places to see the wildlife of East Africa. With a picnic lunch on the way, you enjoy a full-day game drive through wide open plains. You stop whenever something catches your eye. The Serengeti is home to thousands of predators and around 1.6 million herbivores. It is also a great place for bird lovers, with endless variety across the skies and trees. On day 4, you go out for morning and afternoon game drives. Each drive brings something new. If you wish, you can also take an optional balloon safari. From above, you see the landscape and wildlife in a completely different way.
Today you leave the Serengeti behind and head towards the impressive Ngorongoro Crater. On the way, you can optionally visit the archaeological site of Oldupai Gorge and learn more about early human history. You can also choose to enjoy an extra game drive in the Serengeti in the morning, before continuing your journey after lunch (at an additional cost). In the afternoon, you travel to Karatu, where you will stay overnight on the rim of the crater.
Today you descend into the Ngorongoro Crater for a full game drive on the crater floor. You enjoy a picnic lunch inside the crater while surrounded by wildlife. Here you may see elephants, buffaloes, hyenas, lions, many unique bird species, and rhinos. In the afternoon, you drive to Karatu at the foot of the crater.
After breakfast, you leave Karatu and drive to Arusha. After lunch, you continue to the Kenyan border, where you change both vehicle and driver-guide. From here, you travel on to beautiful Amboseli National Park, known for its wide open views of Mount Kilimanjaro. On the way to your lodge or camp, you enjoy a game drive. You may see elephants, zebras, and antelopes along the route. On Day 8, you head out for a morning game drive. In the afternoon, you go out again to look for more wildlife.
Today you leave early for a long drive to Lake Nakuru. This soda lake is now best known for its rhinos. You may see both white and rare black rhinos, as well as leopards and buffaloes. You enjoy a picnic lunch on the way. After that, you continue straight into the park for a short game drive as you head to your lodge. On Day 10, you spend the full day exploring Lake Nakuru on game drives, taking your time to look for more wildlife.
On day 11, after breakfast, you drive south to the Masai Mara. The Mara boasts a particularly beautiful landscape and is the habitat of many wildlife species. Millions of wildebeest and zebras migrate here every year from July to October to attempt to cross the Mara River. You also have a good chance of seeing wildlife here in other months. On the afternoon of day 11, you take a game drive, and on day 12, you go on two exciting game drives. Lions and leopards could easily cross your path during your safari! An optional balloon safari, offering amazing views of the vast Mara and its wildlife, is highly recommended
Before breakfast, you will go on a final game drive. Afterwards, you will drive back to Nairobi, where your safari ends. We can book a city tour or a day room for you if desired.
