Day 1: Arrival in Entebbe

Your 4 Day safari begins with your arrival at Entebbe International Airport (EBB), where the warm, tropical air welcomes you. You will be met at the exit. Your personal Ugandan guide will greet you with a warm smile and a sign bearing your name. Winston Churchill was so fascinated by the lush nature and diversity of this country that he bestowed upon it the memorable name “The Pearl of Africa. ” After this initial warm welcome, your driver will take you directly to your charming accommodation. Upon arrival at The Boma Hotel, you can recover from your flight, take a deep breath in the idyllic garden, and let the anticipation for the days ahead grow.

Day 2: Entebbe – Bwindi

In the morning, you will be taken back to Entebbe Airport for your domestic flight to Bwindi. The flight takes off at 7:45 a.m. and it’s a journey that will take you deep into the verdant heart of Uganda. As the world shrinks below, you glide over captivating landscapes before landing at Kihihi Airstrip at around 9:30 a.m. A warm smile awaits you there. Your guide will transfer you to your accommodation for the next few days. Before you unfolds a breathtaking, almost surreal view of the ancient, mystical rainforest, its canopy swaying gently in the breeze. The afternoon is dedicated to your time together and to your senses. Relax on your veranda, listen to the mysterious sounds of the jungle, or let yourself be enchanted by the wonders of nature on a leisurely stroll. You are also welcome to take a walk through the village of Buhoma. As the day draws to a close, enjoy your dinner while the rainforest outside is bathed in moonlight.

Day 3: Bwindi Impenetrable Forest - Gorilla Trekking

After breakfast, you will be taken to the park headquarters, where you will receive a briefing on the rules for gorilla trekking. You will then set off with the ranger into the mountain rainforest. The ranger follows the instructions and tracks of the trackers, who started at sunrise. They first went to the place where the gorillas were encountered the previous day and are now following their movements. Once the gorillas are located, the trackers inform the guide, and you will carefully approach the gorilla family and its silverback.

It is an amazing moment to stand face to face with these gentle giants of the rainforest. Your time with the gorilla family is limited to one hour to minimize disturbance to their natural behaviour. The trek can be strenuous, depending on the family you are visiting, so a reasonable level of fitness is recommended. It is also important to be in good health. Even a simple cold can prevent you from trekking to the gorillas, as this helps protect them from human illnesses.

The length of the trek varies depending on the location of the gorilla family. Proper equipment is essential. Good footwear, gaiters and rain gear are standard, while gloves are highly recommended when moving through thorny vegetation.

Enjoy your time with the gorillas. This is much more than simply watching wildlife. Standing so close to these magnificent animals and watching the family interact in the forest is a truly memorable experience. The young gorillas are often playful, while the adults feed, rest and move around the family.

A late lunch awaits you at your accommodation. After lunch, you can relax at the lodge and enjoy the rest of the afternoon.

Day 4: Bwindi - Entebbe

As the first rays of sunshine melt the mist over the treetops of Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, enjoy one last, dreamy breakfast in this wildly romantic setting. It is time to say goodbye to the gentle giants, but the memories in your heart will last forever. Your driver will carefully bring you back to the airfield. At 9:45 a.m., you will take to the skies again, leaving the untamed wilderness behind, and land in Entebbe at 11:25 a.m. Here, the first chapter of your shared adventure comes to a close. In the afternoon, the next promise awaits: either you’ll fly towards the sunset in Zanzibar to experience more magical moments, or you’ll begin your journey home with a suitcase full of unforgettable memories.
