You’ll stay in cozy, carefully chosen lodges that are small and full of charm. One great example is the Turaco Treetop Lodge, where you can relax on your veranda and look out over the green rainforest of Kibale Forest National Park. Most of the activities mentioned in this trip are already included in the price. At Greenway Nature Tours, we always look for fresh and exciting experiences. Want even more adventure? Our travel experts can help you add special activities like GPS tracking lions in Queen Elizabeth Park, canoeing on Lake Bunyonyi, or mountain biking among wild zebras in Lake Mburo Park.
In the morning, meet your guide and begin a 6-hour drive to Murchison Falls. On the way, stop at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary, the only place in Uganda to track wild rhinos on foot. Then continue to the park, check into Murchison River Lodge, and relax for the evening. Most animals are in the north. Don’t miss the stunning top of the falls. You can take a boat to the base or, for bird lovers, a smaller boat down the Nile towards Lake Albert.
Today, you’ll drive to Turaco Treetops Lodge at Kibale Forest, near the charming town of Fort Portal. This 800 km² tropical rainforest is a paradise for nature lovers, known for its amazing birdlife, chimpanzee trekking, and many other primates. Chimpanzee trekking is a half-day activity that starts in the morning or early afternoon and must be booked in advance. Along the way, you’ll pass beautiful crater lakes between Fort Portal and the forest – ideal for a scenic hike. You’ll also enjoy a cultural walk-through nearby Bigodi Village, offering a glimpse into local life.
Travel to Enganzi Lodge in Queen Elizabeth, Uganda’s oldest and most diverse park. Its landscapes range from open savannas and lush rainforests to papyrus swamps, crater lakes, and the wide waters of Lake Edward. This rich variety makes it one of the most biodiverse parks in Africa. Enjoy a game drive through the park, where you might spot elephants, buffaloes, and even the famous tree-climbing lions in the Ishasha sector. Don’t miss a boat trip on the Kazinga Channel, perfect for viewing hippos, crocodiles, and a wide array of birds. Game drives around Mweya Lodge and the Northern Circuit also offer excellent wildlife sighting.
Drive to the Kigezi Highlands, perhaps the scenic region of Uganda: a landscape of steep terraced slopes bordering the rainforest of Bwindi. Ready for the experience of a lifetime? Track the rare mountain gorillas in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Bwindi’s dense forest protects approximately half of the world’s mountain gorillas. After gorilla trekking, you will enjoy a relaxing boat cruise on beautiful Lake Bunyonyi, Africa’s second deepest lake.
Travel from Lake Bunyonyi to Lake Mburo. Spend the day exploring this compact yet lively park, perfect for walking safaris, biking, or even horseback riding—thanks to the absence of dangerous predators like lions. Mburo is also one of the few parks in Africa that offers night game drives, where you may spot rare nocturnal animals like hyenas, leopards, and serval cats. The next day, your journey to Entebbe becomes extra special as you cross the equator—a great spot for photos and a memorable way to end your Ugandan adventure.
