The country is home to many types of monkeys—from the tiny night-loving galagos to the colorful colobus monkeys, playful chimpanzees, and of course, the famous mountain gorillas. In the wide-open savannahs of its national parks, you can spot lions, elephants, buffaloes, leopards, hyenas, hippos, zebras, and the unique Ugandan kob.

Besides all the amazing animals, Uganda is also a bird lover’s paradise, with over 1,080 bird species—making it one of the best places in the world for birdwatching. And let’s not forget the people!
