Uganda Safaris and Tours

At Greenway Nature Tours Africa, we are proud to offer safaris and tours in Uganda, the Pearl of Africa. This East African country lies in the Great Lakes Region. It has amazing wildlife, birds, and landscapes. Its many ecosystems make it one of the most exciting safari destinations in Africa.

Uganda is bordered by the Rwenzori Mountains, also called the “Mountains of the Moon,” the Virunga Mountains, and Lake Victoria, Africa’s largest lake. Everywhere you look, there is something to see, from forests to wide savannahs. Uganda offers many safari experiences. You can track wild mountain gorillas in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. You can trek chimpanzees in Kibale Forest or Kyambura Gorge. On the savannah, you may see tree-climbing lions in Queen Elizabeth National Park.

Bird lovers will enjoy over 1,080 species. Adventure seekers can raft on the world’s longest river (Nile) or go sport fishing on Lake Victoria, where Nile perch can reach 200 kg. You can take a boat trip at Murchison Falls, where the Nile flows through a 7-meter-wide gap. You can climb the snowy Rwenzori Mountains or raft the Nile at its wildest. Uganda also offers warm, welcoming culture and breathtaking landscapes.

At Greenway Nature Tours, we make all of these experiences possible for you. Your safari can be relaxing, adventurous, or both, and it will be truly unforgettable.

Why a Uganda Safari is so special

We could write a book about Uganda and everything special about the country, but we’ll keep it short:

  • Uganda has it all. Chimpanzees and more than half of the world’s mountain gorilla population. The Big Five. All sorts of unique bird species. But also, stunning landscapes (savannahs, hills, volcanoes, waterfalls) and a beautiful, rich culture.
  • Uganda is a tourist destination, but there’s no mass tourism like in Tanzania and Kenya. This makes for a truly pure experience. It almost feels like you have one of the most beautiful places on earth all to yourself. Moreover, you can visit Uganda year-round – it’s beautiful in both the rainy and dry seasons.
  • From Uganda, you can easily visit other beautiful places. For example, you can end your tour peacefully on the stunning white beach of Zanzibar.
