Trip Overview
This 13 days Uganda Bird Photo Tour takes you to the country’s finest birdwatching and photography locations. Alongside birding, the tour offers exceptional opportunities for game viewing and includes the chance to track both Mountain Gorillas and Chimpanzees. From the source of the Nile at Lake Victoria to the snow-covered peaks of the Ruwenzori Mountains, and from the lush montane forests of the Virunga volcanoes—home to some of the last remaining Mountain Gorillas—to the expansive savannas of Queen Elizabeth National Park, Uganda is an equatorial country brimming with dramatic contrasts. No other African region can rival its remarkable variety of ecosystems, all within an area roughly the size of Great Britain. This rich diversity is mirrored in its impressive bird list of over 1,080 species, making Uganda arguably the most bird-rich destination in Africa. Among these are several highly sought-after species, including the iconic Shoebill and a range of stunning endemics from the Albertine Rift Mountains.
