3-Day Sipi Falls Tour; Hiking & Relaxation

Start your journey with a scenic 6-hour drive toward the breathtaking Sipi Falls, located near the Uganda-Kenya border, at the base of Mount Elgon. If you arrive early, you have the option to take a Sunset Walk. This easy walk takes you to Kings Point, a panoramic viewpoint offering stunning views of the surrounding landscape. The peaceful surroundings and sweeping vistas will help you unwind and reconnect with nature. Enjoy the sunset as it paints the sky in beautiful hues before returning to your lodge for the night.

The Sipi Falls area features three stunning waterfalls, ranging from 65 to 100 meters tall, as the Sipi River tumbles down the slopes of Mount Elgon into the Kyoga Basin. The falls, and the river that feeds them, are named after the 'Sep', an indigenous plant that locals use for medicinal purposes.

On Day 2, lace up your walking shoes and embark on an exciting hike through this lush landscape. Guided by a local expert, you’ll explore the waterfalls, stroll past vibrant coffee plantations, and take in the serene beauty of the Ugandan countryside. Along the way, you might spot chameleons hiding in the colorful flora. Don’t forget your swimsuit, as you’ll have the chance to cool off in streams or even take a refreshing shower under the falls! For those who want a shorter hike, the guide can adjust the pace to suit your preferences.

Optional Add-Ons:

Rock Abseiling: If you are missing a bit adrenaline in your day of hiking, you can also take a rock abseiling adventure from the top of this 100-meter-high Falls. Equipment (rappels) is provided as well as highly-trained guides to take you through this exhilarating adventure. You will hung from a rope in the cool mist of the cascading falls right beside you, as you enjoy the spectacular panoramic view of the valley below. This thrilling experience is not available anywhere else in Uganda except Sipi! 

Sipi Falls Coffee Tour: In Sipi Falls, fantastic Arabica coffee of high quality is grown. Many farmers with small pieces of land form a cooperative together. In this way, their artisanal coffee beans are sold worldwide. You experience the entire process from picking to drying, grinding with a large wooden mortar to cooking and drinking the coffee and all this at the local farmer, who therefore also makes a little extra. On your final day, wake up early to enjoy a peaceful sunrise over the valley or take a short stroll through the lodge’s tropical gardens. Around midday, begin your return journey to Entebbe or Kampala. If you missed the coffee tour on the previous days, this is your chance to experience it before departure. Alternatively, if you’ve already done the coffee tour, you can take an early hike to the nearby Chebonet Waterfalls.
