The park is known for its towering cliffs, bursting gorges, dusty valleys and pristinely sculpted volcanic (which famously inspired the movie ‘The Lion King’).
It boasts some of the most unique and stunning landscapes in Kenya. It has, without a doubt; some of the most peculiar and striking landscapes. And despite its intimidating name, it is the only national park in Kenya that you explore on foot or on two wheels.
From hell, a short 1 hour drive takes us to the Lake Nakuru National Park. Although the number of flamingos has decreased due to rising water levels and other natural factors, the park itself remains breathtaking—one of Kenya’s finest. Majestic rocky escarpments rise above acacia forests, waterfalls cascade through the landscape, and wooded hills and euphorbia trees surround the lake.
In addition to flamingos, the park is home to a diverse array of birdlife, including pelicans, cormorants, kingfishers, ostriches, storks, herons, and eagles.
The atmosphere here is vibrant, lively, and full of color. But this special park’s appeal doesn’t end there – wildlife viewing is easy and plentiful.
Lake Nakuru is famous for housing endangered yet amazing species. You’re likely to spot the rare Rothschild’s giraffe, along with white rhinos, particularly near the lakeshore. The park also serves as a sanctuary for one of Kenya’s largest populations of black rhinos, so be sure to have your camera ready!
